We aim to develop realistic and managble projects which promote and preserve and re-establish customs and traditions of a market town.

Our drive is through educationally based projects which incorperate tangible results with learning opportunities for all.

Young people are the future of Uttoxeter and it introduced to Uttoxeters history and heritage in a stimulating way will become its guardians in years to come.

Heritage Centre

Uttoxeter Civic Society has launced a campaign to stop the sale of the loss making Heritage Centre. The Centre in Carter Street was opened in the 70s and occupies the building inhabited by Francis Redfern, Uttoxeters foremost historian.
The Centre is now limited in its scope for activities and the Civic Society has previously put forward plans to develop the centre under charitable trust management. It seems the councils motivation is to sell the building as retail units and fund its despairing attempt of DIY development at the town hall.

The UHCG supports the defence of the building but sees its future resting in its development under a charitable trust status with more pro-active and creative management. UHCG has no plans to involve itself in any scheme at the moment.
